Universal Hydrogen makeshydrogen-powered commercial flights
Universal Hydrogen came to start establishing their business in July 2021, when opened Toulouse-Blagnac Airport doors to the team.
A year later, here we are, at a beautiful inauguration of their new industrial site.
Universal Hydrogen project:
The Californian company created in 2020 is completely rethinking the way we cano supply aircraft with hydrogen, thanks to its interchangeable capsules. Universal Hydrogen is taking over the retrofit of existing aircraft, which is how they want to convince airlines.
In the background of the picture, you can see an ATR aircraft being converted. The company now has its European headquarters with a strong R&D, and it makes sense.
The project has been financed to date by fundraising (€82 million). Twenty jobs have already been created in Toulouse.
Invest in Toulouse role:
Universal Hydrogen is a foreign investment project detected by Business France, where Invest in Toulouse has helped with the regional agency AD'OCC.
When a company comes for a visit, we take of them properly by: technical meetings to identify clients and partners, meetings to create the legal entity (lawyers, accountants & bank) but also we help in the search for offices. In this case, the B16 is a place full of History. Since the 1940's, the B16 has been home to many projects, including the Caravelle, which will now host a turning point in regional carbon-free aviation.
